About Gabrieli Tallit Handweaving
With sales from New York to Los Angeles, South Africa to South America, London to Jerusalem – and every stop in between – the Gabrieli weaving studio has assumed a place among the world’s top handwoven tallit makers.
Malka Gabrieli, who studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, founded Gabrieli Hand Weaving in 1964. The studio was started in the artist colony of Old Jaffa and kept growing. Malka died in a traffic accident in 1982, but the business remained in the family and today is run by Aryeh Gabrieli, who continues the handwoven tallit tradition with 40 workers on 13 looms.
