Description

Features textured, box weave that lends it optimal non-slip tallit properties. Durable, yet airy and supple, making it a pleasure to wear.
 
The name “Tashbetz” is taken from Exodus 28:4, which refers to “a tunic of chequer work.”  Tashbetz is also the name of a famous responsa by Rabbi Shimon ben Tzemach Duran of 14th century Spain.

    Excellent service from Ben. Would certainly recommend them and use them again. My only mild criticism is that the website described this as a lightweight tallit – which it really is not. It is also quite bulky. But I am very happy with it and have “upgraded” it to Shabbat!

    The checkerboard wool makes it look a little different than the traditional talis, but it really does fall off a lot less. I also got it with the half-lining, which makes it stay on a lot better if you plan on putting it over your head. Ben was also the only one I could find who could tie tekhelet the way I wanted it, and at prices better than what many others were asking.

    This was my first Tallit and it is wonderful. I don’t have another to compare it to but I love it. The weave looks very much like honeycomb and helps the material to stay on my shoulders more than I’m sure a normal one would. I asked for Rambam Tzitzit with thick Ptil Techelet and it is all just perfect. I would definitely go for the thick Tzitzit if you can as they look a lot better than the slightly thinner ones. I’m super happy with the service and feel like royalty wearing it. Thank you.

    I purchased this tallit to replace my everyday tallit. Having a non slip tallit is amazing compared to my previous one. I put it on and I don’t need to fix it the entire davening! It took me a week to really get used to not constantly having to fix it! I also like how the standard atara is nice and wide. Feels much more substantial. If you are considering a non slip tallit, don’t go any further than the Tashbetz. Just pick which color you want and order it.
    Also, I want to thank and note how helpful and communicative Ben is during the whole process.

    A very high quality tallit, super soft and comfortable, and it didn’t slip off once the entire Shabbat morning service. Even though it’s so soft, it feels and looks like it will last for decades. I also ordered the blue linen tallit bag with my name embroidered in Hebrew. I have the same words for this beautiful bag and for the expertly embroidered lettering.

If you are over 6′ (182cm) be sure to get the largest one available.     I wanted a tallis that would be just transitional and basic, an every Jew’s tallis, but this is also a gorgeous piece of textile work and a pleasure to wear. I don’t know if it’s any less or more slippy for the Tashbetz weave but I suspect it will be more comfortable as the season warms and it lays beautifully on the shoulders.

    I had previously bought a wool Tallis (non-slip) That is really great. The new one I just got slips. Not terrible but not nearly as good. I also thought I had ordeder the thick Tzitzis. This tallis definitely does not have thick tzitzis. Could be I’m mistaken and placed the order wrong.

    Love this tallit, it’s my go-to everyday tallit. Like the description says, a pleasure to wear. Definitely lighter than other wool tallitot, and the checkerboard pattern does add an interesting and unique look to it, not to mention aids in preventing slipping. To be clear it helps, doesn’t eliminate or make it completely nonslip, but definitely slips less than others without the grid pattern. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something lighter and more comfortable, I just wish it came it more color options (one with darker blue stripes perhaps?).

    I received the Tallit and could feel not only the quality but could feel the passion put into theanufactiring of the Tallit. I felt the Kedusha of it and on it. Very happy. I don’t know if I missed on the customization, but I wish I could add my initials embroidered. Definitely the right place where to buy.
