Description
A traditional wool tallit featuring reverse striping: instead of a white base with blue stripes, the Sapir has a soft light metallic blue base color with white stripes and silver pinstripes. Made in Israel by Mishkan Hatchelet, the Sapir lightweight box weave fabric that helps prevent the tallit from slipping off your shoulders.
The name “Sapir” is borrowed from the description of the jewels embedded in the Choshen (see Exodus 28:16).
The striping on the atara (neckband) and corner squares matches the tallit’s stripe pattern.

This is a beautiful tallit, with soft hues of blue and sliver strips. It is lightweight, and stays in place!
I opted for the thick handspun tzitzit, and it looks terrific.

The feel and look are great, and the tzizit, techelet, were tied quite well. I received a number of comments over Shavuot and Shabbat. The only, non-issue is the non-slip. I haven’t worn a nonslip tallit that doesn’t slip. I don’t expect to. No matter. I’d recommend the tallit to anyone. And…I’d recommend Ben’s as well.
