Description
Why does the Torah enjoin us regarding techelet? Because techelet resembles sapphire, and the Tablets were made of sapphire, to tell you that as long as Bnei Yisrael gaze upon this techelet they are reminded of what is inscribed on the Tablets and observe the commandments, therefore it is written, ‘And you shall see it [the techelet string] and remember all of the commandments of G-d and you shall do them.’ – Mishnat Rabbi Eliezer, Chap. 14
Lashonot Hatzemer tzitzit dyed with Murex trunculus by the Techeiles Chabura organization.
Standard Techeiles Chabura is made using Lashonot Hatzemer strings, which means the strings are made with mitzvah intent starting a bit earlier in the production stage than standard hand-spun tzitzit (considered a hiddur, according to some poskim). All options listed are Lashonot Hatzemer, except where noted “Niputz Lishmah.”
Strings dyed by Techeiles Chabura are made under the kashrut supervision of the Eidah Chareidis of Jerusalem.
Rambam ratio. Set comes with three white strings and one half white/half blue string for each corner.
If you would like us to do the tying, you would place your order as follows: (1) Go to a tallit or tallit katan product page, (2) select the size and “I don’t need tzitzit strings, (3) select the tying custom and add to cart, then (4) go back to this page and add a set of strings.
