Malka Gabrieli, who studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, founded Gabrieli Hand Weaving in 1964. The studio was started in the artist colony of Old Jaffa and kept growing. The business has remained in the family, continuing the family’s hand‑woven tallit tradition on looms custom‑laced for each material — wool, cotton, or silk — allowing every piece to be woven with the optimal warp.

We looked all over for a red Tallit that we liked for our son’s bar mitzvah. It’s what he wanted and we wanted something that hopefully he will wear throughout his life. When his tallit arrived we couldn’t have been more pleased. It’s absolutely beautiful and very high quality. The shop was very communicative and we were worried about it arriving on time. They updated us on its arrival and it came the day they said it would. We would absolutely order from them again.
