World-famous Gabrieli tallits have been made in Israel on hand looms for over four decades. A fabulous value in a handwoven tallit.
Available in wool, wool/acrylic, cotton or silk/acrylic. The wool is made using thick yarns that create a rugged, earthy look. (The wool and wool/acrylic look almost identical.) The cotton version is made of slightly thinner yarns that enable greater detail.
The acrylic/silk version is thinner, with a tighter weave, high sheen and a slick feel.
Typical weaving time is 4-6 weeks if you select the standard striped atara and 6-8 weeks for the atara option with hand embroidery. In addition to weaving time, we need about one week to tie on the tzitzit and prepare the order for shipping. Note that during the two months before Passover and Rosh Hashana, the weaving studio typically has a heavier workload, and weaving time can be longer.
