Customs / Douane / Aduana / Zoll

We sometimes receive requests from customers asking us to adjust the details on the customs form or invoice to help avoid import taxes. We completely understand why — nobody likes surprise fees — but we need to follow both halachic guidelines and legal requirements, so we’re not able to make such changes.

Depending on where you live, your local customs office may charge import duty, VAT, and/or a small handling or brokerage fee when your package arrives. This is common in many countries.

If you’re in Europe:

Import duties in the EU vary by product. Many items fall in a range of about 0% to 12–17%, depending on the category. In addition, most EU countries charge VAT (often around 20–21%).

Please note that some products may not qualify for EU–Israel tariff exemptions if they are considered to originate outside Israel’s recognized pre‑1967 borders. In such cases, local customs may apply import duties based on their classification.

If you’re in the USA:

As of February 24, 2026, the U.S. has introduced a temporary 10% import duty on most goods (including Judaica) for a 150‑day period, unless extended. You'll see that 10% tax when you go to checkout, and we then pass the fee onto US customs to enable frictionless delivery on your end.

Since every country has its own rules — and these rules can change from time to time — we recommend checking your local regulations so you know what to expect. Unfortunately, we’re not able to take responsibility for customs charges or provide detailed guidance for each destination.
