Product Description
Tefillin Gassot (“thick phylacteries”) are made out of a single piece of thick leather shaped by repeatedly applying several tons of pressure in industrial presses as part of a complicated, but delicate and exacting production process. The resulting battim (“houses”) are so thick and sturdy that they can be reshaped even if damaged.
All stages of production, from inserting the parchments to closing and painting the battim and all other finishing steps of making your tefillin are done with careful adherence to halacha. These tefillin gassot are ohr echad and kosher l'chatchila.

Some customers have specific requests regarding the custom for how to tie the knots on the straps of the Shel Yad and the Shel Rosh. If you have special requests, please note that in the comments field during checkout. If you do not include special requests, the straps will be prepared as follows:
Sephardic (Vellish):

Chassidic (Arizal/Nusach Sfard):

I'm a little late on my review, the package arrived months ago but wasn't opened until end of june/ beginning of july. Since I opened the package, the tefillin have been handled with great care and always stored safely and properly, but already after less than two months the part next to the box containing scripture where the leather straps run through started to break and rip. Very disappointed, especially in light of the price and your advertising that they would last a lifetime and after less than two months this...

I researched tefillin for weeks before choosing this tefillin gassot from Ben's shop. Outstanding quality. The velvety box and long straps, finely polished on one side and matt black on the other, are exquisitely crafted and the sweet smell of the workshop when you first open the package is a joy. The tefillin ship with a beautifully embroidered bag and gold embossed black plastic protective cases for the boxes which will help them to last a lifetime or more, along with detailed certification for the scrolls. The experience was completed by BTS's attentive and seamless customer support.
