If you are looking for the type of tallit worn hanging in front (as opposed to the traditional-style tallit that drapes down the back), the standard sizes are too long for the not-so-tall bar mitzvah boy. If your son is under 5 feet tall, you may want to consider a tallit that measures under 70 inches long (the standard length is 72 inches).
