Traditional Black-Striped Tallit Comparison Guide
Traditional Wool Tallit - The time-tested traditional wool tallit design with black striping and silver or gold pinstripes or black striping and one or two satiny white stripes between the black stripes.
Prima A.A. - Top quality weave. Comes with a standard white atara. To add a different atara, go to the Tallit Atara page. Options for lining, side bands and/or middle band available. Made by Talitania.
Prima Lite - Similar to the Prima A.A. but 30% lighter. Light on your shoulders, folds compact, and narrower, meaning less tallit fabric bunched up on your shoulders.
Tashbetz - Box weave that resists slipping. Made by Mishkan Hatchelet. Box weave slightly more pronounced than the David Tashbetz.
David Tashbetz - Box weave designed to reduce slipping. Made by Talitania. Slightly more lightweight than the Tashbetz.
Hamefoar - Luxurious textured weave that also resists slipping, but smoother than the Tashbetz. Made by Mishkan Hatchelet.
Malchut - A popular alternative to Hamefoar, priced a bit lower. Made by Talitania.
Hamefoar Prestige - Similar fabric, but slightly heavier than Hamefoar. Comes with lining and side bands which, combined with the slightly heavier fabric, lend Hamefoar Prestige a heftier feel. Striping pattern is darker and thicker. Features unique interlaced fringes.
Shachar Nonslip - New tallit made by Mishkan Hatchelet. Unique weaving pattern and interlaced fringes.
Shachar Midnight Blue - Same as the Shachar, but instead of black striping, the Shachar Midnight Blue has super-dark navy striping.
Turkish - The Kmo Turkish features a heavyweight fabric and thick striping. The Echt Turkish is the heaviest traditional wool tallit made, and features unique, interlaced fringes. Both come with cotton lining and sidebands. Not shown above. Refer to our Chassidic Tallis page.
Carmel - Black striping with silver pinstripes. Designed to look like a luxurious hand-woven tallit at a fraction of the cost.
